The OYE family is now bigger and better than ever! On Saturday, after a month-long selection process, OYE held an event to officially welcome 37 new scholarship students, bringing the total number of "becarios" for 2009 to our largest ever: 75!
Our "entrega de becas" was MC-ed by Victor Hernandez, a local radio personality, and two of our very own radio stars, OYE el Ritmo's Jarly Janez and Keyla Rosales. Hundreds of friends and family were on hand as each student, new and returning, received a certificate to honor their acheivement. In addition, 10 students were highlighted for their contributions to OYE and their outstanding grades in class and within the OYE journalism or radio group:Julian Andres Martinez Garcia

For their end of the year episode, the OYE el Ritmo radio crew was busy covering the event.
The team conducted interviews with new scholarship students, parents, our director Luis, co-director Erin, and myself, and they gave their own perspectives on the event and their accomplishments in 2008.
You can expect the 6th pilot episode of OYE's radio show in 2009.
After an amazing 2008 which saw so many positive changes, we are excited to see what the new year and new scholarship students will bring!
